Massimiliano Allegri has officially taken charge as the new AC Milan manager, marking a return to San Siro after more than 11 years. The experienced tactician has signed a two-year deal with the option to extend for a third season, according to widespread reports in Italy.
Reliable sources, including Sky Sport Italia, confirm that Allegri’s salary is set at €5 million per season, with additional bonuses tied to performance objectives.
The 56-year-old was on the verge of accepting an offer from Napoli, but that move was halted once Antonio Conte opted to stay at the helm of the Partenopei. Milan swiftly capitalized on the opportunity to secure Allegri’s return.
Allegri finalized the agreement earlier today following a meeting in central Milan with the club’s CEO Giorgio Furlani and new sporting director Igli Tare. The final documents were signed at the office of his agent, Giovanni Branchini. Milan president Paolo Scaroni also made an appearance to formally welcome Allegri back to the club.
The coach previously led the Rossoneri from 2010 until his dismissal in early 2014. During that stint, he managed 178 games, capturing the 2010–11 Serie A title and the 2011 Supercoppa Italiana.
Following his time in Milan, Allegri enjoyed two separate spells with Juventus—first from 2014 to 2019, then again from 2021 until his recent dismissal in May 2024, which came just after lifting the Coppa Italia. His final exit from Juve was reportedly due to a heated confrontation with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli during the celebrations.
Now back in familiar surroundings, Allegri is tasked with steering Milan back to domestic and European glory.
