Tottenham Complete Danso Deal as Five Players Depart
Tottenham Hotspur have sealed the permanent signing of Kevin Danso from RC Lens for £21 million, while confirming the departures of five players as part of a summer shake-up.
Danso, who initially joined Spurs on loan in January, has signed a five-year contract that takes effect from June 1. The 26-year-old defender featured 15 times for the club, including a brief appearance in the Europa League final win over Manchester United that ended Tottenham’s 17-year wait for silverware.
Meanwhile, back-up goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman, left-back Sergio Reguilon, and forward Timo Werner have all exited the club.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s loan spell at Marseille has also been made permanent, with the French club paying a fee believed to be in the region of £17 million.
Veteran goalkeeper Forster, 37, departs after three seasons and 34 appearances, while Reguilon ends his time at Spurs following a series of loan stints after joining in 2020.
