The curtain is set to rise on the 2025/26 Premier League campaign with a high-stakes clash between Manchester United and Arsenal headlining the first Super Sunday, as Sky Sports ramps up its live coverage to a record 215 games this season, nearly doubling its previous total of 128.
Ruben Amorim will officially kick off his first full season in charge of Manchester United by welcoming Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to Old Trafford on August 17, live on Sky Sports. The Red Devils face a tough opening run, also clashing with Manchester City and Chelsea in their first five matches.
Arsenal aren’t spared either. Their first six fixtures pit them against Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, City, and Newcastle, a testing start for Arteta’s men.
The new season officially gets underway two days earlier when Premier League champions Liverpool face Bournemouth at Anfield under the Friday night lights on August 15. That match will also be live on Sky Sports.
The weekend of football continues on Saturday August 16 with Wolves hosting a revamped Manchester City squad in the evening kick-off. Earlier in the day, Aston Villa square off against Newcastle at 12:30pm, while Sunderland mark their top-flight return against West Ham at 3pm.
Sunday’s Super Sunday doubleheader features Chelsea battling FA Cup holders Crystal Palace at 2pm before the main event, Manchester United versus Arsenal, kicks off at 4:30pm. Leeds then take on Everton on Monday Night Football to round off the action-packed opening weekend.
Other notable fixtures include Tottenham, now under the leadership of Thomas Frank, starting their campaign at home to Burnley, while Brentford face Nottingham Forest and Fulham travel to Brighton.
Sunderland fans will relish their return to Premier League life, and the Stadium of Light will be bouncing as they host West Ham in their first game back.
Notably, the Premier League has opted not to schedule any matches on Boxing Day this year. However, fixtures on December 27 may be moved to that date for broadcast purposes. To prevent fixture congestion, clubs will not be made to play more than once in any 48-hour period between December 27 and December 30.
Looking ahead, the season will conclude on Sunday May 24, 2026, with all final-day fixtures kicking off simultaneously at 4pm. Manchester United will visit Brighton, Arsenal will travel to Crystal Palace, and Manchester City host Aston Villa in what could be decisive matches for the title, Europe, or relegation battles.
As for cup competitions, the Carabao Cup final is scheduled for March 22, the FA Cup final for May 16, and the Champions League final will take place in Milan on May 30. The Europa League and Conference League finals follow on May 20 and May 27 respectively.
Sky Sports will be the dominant broadcaster once again, showing 80 percent of all televised matches. Fans can also stream every Sky Sports game through NOW.
