The group stage of Women’s Euro 2025 is entering its final round. With qualification on the line, some teams have already secured their place, others are fighting to stay alive, and a few are already eliminated. Here’s a full breakdown of each group.
Group A
Norway 6 pts
Switzerland 3 pts
Finland 3 pts
Iceland 0 pts
Norway have secured a spot in the quarter finals with wins over Switzerland and Finland. Due to the head-to-head rule, they cannot be overtaken at the top of the group.
Iceland are out after losing both matches.
Switzerland and Finland are level on points, but Switzerland hold the advantage with a superior goal difference. A draw will be enough for the hosts to go through. Finland must win to advance. Bookmakers currently favour Switzerland to qualify.
Group B
Spain 6 pts
Italy 4 pts
Portugal 1 pt
Belgium 0 pts
Spain have cruised into the knockout stage, scoring 11 goals in just two matches. Belgium are already eliminated following defeats to both Spain and Italy.
Portugal managed to stay alive thanks to Diana Gomes’ late equaliser against Italy. They now need to beat Belgium and hope Spain defeat Italy. If that happens, Portugal and Italy will both finish with four points. However, Portugal’s 5-0 loss to Spain leaves them with a major goal difference deficit. They would need a six-goal swing to progress.
Group C
Sweden 6 pts
Germany 6 pts
Denmark 0 pts
Poland 0 pts
Sweden and Germany have both qualified for the quarter finals. Denmark and Poland have been eliminated.
The only thing left to decide is who finishes top. Sweden have the better goal difference and need just a draw. Germany must win to claim first place.
Group D
France 6 pts
England 3 pts
Netherlands 3 pts
Wales 0 pts
This group remains open, although Wales have only a small chance of advancing.
England bounced back with a strong 4-0 victory over the Netherlands. A win over Wales will confirm their place in the last eight. A draw would also be enough if France avoid defeat against the Netherlands.
If England lose, they will need France to beat the Netherlands. That would leave England, Wales, and the Netherlands tied on points, and goal difference would decide who goes through. England currently have the edge with a goal difference of plus four.
If England and the Netherlands both win, qualification will come down to goal difference from their matches against each other and France. The Netherlands are at a disadvantage because of their loss to England.
Wales can only qualify if they beat England by at least four goals and France defeat the Netherlands.
