Nigeria’s Super Falcons have secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The match saw Morocco take an early 2-0 lead through Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaâ Mssoudy in the first half.
However, Nigeria staged a remarkable comeback in the second half, with Esther Okoronkwo scoring a penalty in the 64th minute and Folashade Florence Ijamilusi leveling the score in the 71st minute. Jennifer Echegini sealed the win with a late goal in the 88th minute.
Nigeria dominated the match statistics, recording 14 shots compared to Morocco’s 10, with 55% possession and 280 passes completed at a 69% accuracy rate. The Super Falcons also had five corners to Morocco’s three.
Despite the high intensity, the game remained fair with no yellow or red cards issued. Nigeria committed seven fouls, while Morocco had 12.
