With the shortlist for the 2025 Ballon d’Or now announced, we take a look at the standout statistics for each of the 30 players competing for the men’s award this September.
Jude Bellingham
Bellingham found the net 15 times and set up 14 more for Real Madrid from August 2024 to July 2025. He is one of just six La Liga players to achieve double-digit figures in both goals and assists across all competitions during that period. He also ranks third in the league for chances created in open play, trailing only Raphinha and Vinícius Júnior.
Ousmane Dembélé
Dembélé was directly involved in 49 goals for Paris Saint-Germain throughout 53 matches from August 2024 through July 2025. His contributions include 35 goals and 14 assists, with 14 goal involvements coming in the Champions League campaign that saw PSG lift the trophy for the first time.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
Between August 2024 and July 2025, Donnarumma kept a clean sheet in more than one-third of his appearances for PSG. He saved 71 percent of shots on target during a season where his team secured both the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League crown.
Désiré Doué
The 20-year-old Doué played a crucial role in PSG’s exceptional 2024-25 season. He participated in 30 goals in all competitions, scoring 16 and assisting 14. Only Lamine Yamal, with 39 goal involvements under the age of 21, surpassed his total.
Denzel Dumfries
Dumfries stood out among defenders in Europe’s top five leagues by scoring 11 goals over the 2024-25 season. During Inter’s Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, he scored twice and assisted three times, becoming only the third player to have five or more goal contributions in a single UCL semi-final tie.
Serhou Guirassy
Guirassy scored 13 goals in 14 Champions League matches last season, finishing as joint top scorer alongside Raphinha. His 32 percent shot conversion rate was exceptional and helped him set a new record for Borussia Dortmund’s most goals in a single European Cup campaign.
Viktor Gyökeres
Gyökeres delivered an incredible 54 goals in 52 appearances for Sporting CP during the 2024-25 season. He netted 39 times in the Primeira Liga, the highest league total by any player since Mário Jardel scored 42 in 2001-02. His impressive form earned him a transfer to Arsenal.
Erling Haaland
Haaland scored 34 goals in 48 appearances for Manchester City from August 2024 to July 2025, the highest tally among Premier League players. Among the 17 players who scored at least 15 goals in the league, he had the best minutes-per-goal ratio.
Achraf Hakimi
Hakimi created 108 chances from open play for PSG in the same timeframe, the highest among defenders in the top five European leagues. Only Raphinha created more chances overall.
Harry Kane
Kane captured his first major trophy as Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga in 2024-25. He also finished as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals for the second consecutive season.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Kvaratskhelia was the only player on the list to earn two league title medals last season, contributing to Napoli’s Serie A triumph and PSG’s Ligue 1 victory, while also lifting the Champions League trophy.
Robert Lewandowski
Lewandowski matched Kylian Mbappé as the top scorer for non-penalty goals across Europe’s five biggest leagues with 24. At 36 years old, this remains a remarkable achievement. He also had one of the best minutes-per-goal ratios in La Liga.
Alexis Mac Allister
Mac Allister led the Premier League in starting goal-scoring sequences last season with 13, six more than any other player. He was also second in starting sequences leading to shots and third in expected goals from sequences he initiated.
Lautaro Martínez
Martínez scored nine Champions League goals for Inter in 2024-25, matching Hernán Crespo’s club record from 2002-03.
Kylian Mbappé
Mbappé proved his critics wrong by scoring more goals than any other player in the top five European leagues last season, totaling 31. He shared the highest number of non-penalty goals with Lewandowski.
Scott McTominay
The Serie A Player of the Season scored eight decisive goals for Napoli, more than any other player breaking a deadlock last year. He was also the league’s top-scoring midfielder.
Nuno Mendes
Mendes led the Champions League last season in duels won, tackles made, and interceptions among defenders.
Joao Neves
Neves made the most tackles and won the second-highest number of duels in the Champions League. He also provided eight assists in Ligue 1.
Michael Olise
Olise was a bright spot for Bayern Munich, creating the most big chances across Europe’s top five leagues and ranking second for assists and expected assists.
Cole Palmer
Palmer earned the nickname “Cold Palmer” after five goal involvements in two major finals for Chelsea, including the Conference League and Club World Cup titles.
Pedri
At 22, Pedri led the Champions League in line-breaking passes under pressure and topped Europe’s top five leagues in passes played before chances were created.
Raphinha
Raphinha registered 56 goal involvements last season across all competitions, second only to Mohamed Salah. He matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s Champions League record for goal involvements and nearly equaled Luis Figo’s assist record.
Declan Rice
Rice enjoyed his best season yet for Arsenal with personal bests in goals, assists, and chances created. He also became the first player to score two direct free-kicks in a Champions League knockout tie.
Fabián Ruiz
Ruiz maintained a pass accuracy above 90 percent over almost 4,000 minutes during PSG’s Champions League-winning campaign, contributing important goals in key matches.
Mohamed Salah
Salah topped Europe’s big five leagues with 47 goal involvements in 2024-25, breaking the Premier League record for a 38-game season.
Virgil van Dijk
Van Dijk made more line-breaking passes than all but two players in the Premier League and led the league in passes that disrupted the opposition’s defensive structure.
Vinícius Jr.
Vinícius led all players in Europe’s top five leagues for carries followed by a goal or assist and also created the most chances following a carry.
Vitinha
Vitinha topped the Champions League for line-breaking passes under pressure and had the most passes leading to a goal within ten seconds.
Florian Wirtz
Wirtz was among only six players in Europe’s top five leagues to record double digits for both goals and assists. He was also third in assists from open play.
Lamine Yamal
The 18-year-old Yamal led the top five leagues for carries followed by shots and chances created. He completed 161 successful dribbles, far more than any other player.
