Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Sekou Chelle has unveiled a 31-man provisional squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clashes against Rwanda and South Africa.
The list features captain William Troost-Ekong, reliable goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, defenders Olaoluwa Aina and Calvin Bassey, midfield anchors Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, as well as attacking stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Moses Simon.
Chelle also handed call-ups to emerging talents like goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt, defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel and Bruno Onyemaechi, midfielders Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, alongside forwards Sadiq Umar and Nathan Tella.
Exciting young defender Benjamin Fredericks, defenders Felix Agu and Igoh Ogbu, midfielder Christantus Uche, and striker Cyriel Dessers—one of the standout performers at Nigeria’s 2025 Unity Cup triumph in London—have also been included. Goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo, defender Chidozie Awaziem, and forward Terem Moffi make their return to the squad.
Nigeria, currently fourth in Group C, will host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, September 6, before heading to Bloemfontein to face South Africa in a crucial encounter on Tuesday, September 9.
The Super Eagles will begin camping in Uyo on Monday, September 1.
