Chelsea have completed the signing of Nigerian central defender Justin Osagie following a successful trial at Stamford Bridge.
The 20-year-old joined the Blues on undisclosed terms after his contract with Peterborough United expired. His impressive performances during a trial period reportedly convinced Chelsea’s academy coaches to hand him a permanent deal.
Osagie has already been integrated into the club’s development setup and was named on the bench for the EFL Trophy clash against Northampton Town.
Before his move to Chelsea, Osagie’s football journey saw him progress through several clubs, including Southend United, West Ham United, and Celtic, before joining Peterborough United in 2024 after another standout trial performance.
The young defender had also attracted interest from several Premier League sides, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Born to Nigerian parents, Osagie is eligible to represent both Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland at international level.
