Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu has added another personal honour to his name after being voted the Turkish Super Lig Player of the Month for October.
The Trabzonspor forward delivered an impressive attacking return throughout the month, scoring twice and providing one assist in three league matches. His performances played a big part in Trabzonspor maintaining an unbeaten run in October, where they recorded two wins and one draw.
It was not an easy contest for the award, as Onuachu had to contend with eight other nominees such as Rafa Silva, Andre Onana, Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Orkun Kokcu, Ederson Moraes, Wilfred Singo, and Davinson Sanchez. However, the fans made their voices heard and the majority of the votes went in his favour, sealing the recognition for the Nigerian.
Onuachu’s consistency this season has been a major highlight for Trabzonspor. The 31-year-old has now picked up two Goal of the Month awards already in this campaign, showing how important he has become to the Black Sea Storm’s attack.
So far this season in the Turkish elite division, Onuachu has found the net seven times and provided one assist from eleven league appearances, proving to be one of the most in-form African strikers currently playing in Europe.
Trabzonspor fans will be hoping he continues this impressive run as the season moves deeper into the race for honours.
