Tanzania have taken the next major step in their AFCON 2025 preparations, as head coach Miguel Gamondi announced a provisional roster of 53 players for the continental tournament.
Most of the invited players come from the domestic Tanzanian Premier League, with powerhouse clubs Young Africans, Simba SC, Azam FC, and Singida Black Stars supplying the bulk of the squad.
A few foreign-based stars also made the cut, including Sabri Kondo of BK Häcken (Sweden), Novatus Miroshi from Turkish side Göztepe, and Aalborg BK forward Kelvin John from Denmark.
Gamondi will be required to reduce the squad before CAF’s official deadline for final lists.
Tanzania, known as the Taifa Stars, are placed in Group C alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and East African rivals Uganda. Their opening match is scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, where they will go head-to-head with the Super Eagles.
