In a move set to electrify football fans and gamers alike, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and KONAMI Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. have announced a landmark agreement naming KONAMI the Official Gaming Sponsor of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for both the 2025 and 2027 editions.
The partnership grants KONAMI exclusive gaming rights to recreate the prestigious TotalEnergies CAF AFCON within its globally popular eFootball™ franchise, bringing the thrill of Africa’s premier football tournament to digital screens worldwide.
CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be one of the most exciting and widely followed editions of our flagship competition. Our partnership with KONAMI reflects CAF’s commitment to innovation, global fan engagement, and creating new opportunities for African youth in both football and digital spaces.”

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, promising an unforgettable showcase of African football talent.
This deal marks a significant step in CAF’s digital transformation, enhancing fan experiences and bridging the worlds of traditional football and esports across the continent’s 56 member associations.
