Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich all overturned deficits on Tuesday to claim vital Champions League victories and strengthen their push for places in the knockout rounds.
Kounde Inspires Barcelona Turnaround at Camp Nou
Barcelona dug deep at Camp Nou to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt 2–1, with Jules Kounde delivering two decisive headers in three minutes. The Catalan club, eager to bounce back from setbacks against Club Brugge and Chelsea, moved up to 14th in the league phase with 10 points. Frankfurt shocked the home crowd in the 21st minute when Ansgar Knauff finished off a counterattack, but Barcelona responded strongly in the second half. Kounde first nodded in a Marcus Rashford cross in the 50th minute before rising again to head home from a Lamine Yamal delivery. Frankfurt remain 30th with four points.
Atletico Edge Five-Goal Thriller in Eindhoven
Atletico Madrid also came from behind, defeating PSV Eindhoven 3–2 away to climb to seventh and edge closer to the knockout rounds. Guus Til opened scoring for PSV, but defensive lapses allowed Julian Alvarez, David Hancko and Alexander Sorloth to turn the game around. PSV applied heavy pressure late on after Ricardo Pepi scored in the 85th minute, but Atletico survived a frantic finale.
Bayern Hit Sporting With Three-Goal Burst
In Munich, Bayern stormed back from a goal down to beat Sporting Lisbon 3–1 following a dominant second-half spell. A Joshua Kimmich own goal put Sporting ahead before Bayern responded with strikes from Serge Gnabry, 17-year-old Lennart Karl and Jonathan Tah between the 65th and 77th minutes. Karl became the youngest player ever to score in three straight Champions League games.
Greenwood Brace Lifts Marseille Past Union St Gilloise
Mason Greenwood hit a brace as Olympique Marseille earned a 3–2 comeback win over Union St Gilloise, boosting their qualification hopes. Marseille rose to 16th on nine points, while Union remain outside the knockout spots with six. Anan Khalaili scored early and later added another, but Marseille replied through Igor Paixao before Greenwood combined twice with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for two clinical finishes.
