Afrobeats heavyweight Davido has publicly backed Nigeria’s national team, placing a $25,000 wager on the Super Eagles for their opening Group C match of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The singer took to X to post his betting ticket, tipping both Nigeria and Tanzania national football team to find the net. If the prediction lands, the return could rise to $96,564, which converts to about ₦140 million.
This is not the first time Davido has put money behind the national side. He previously staked $10,000 on a World Cup playoff involving Nigeria, a game the Super Eagles failed to win.
Nigeria begin their AFCON 2025 campaign on December 23 against Tanzania at the Complex Sportif de Fes in Morocco, as they chase a fourth continental crown.
