Rivers United earned their first point of the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League group stage after forcing Power Dynamos to a goalless draw in Zambia.
The Matchday Three encounter was played on Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, where the Port Harcourt side showed more defensive solidity after losing their opening two matches.
Finidi George’s men had previously suffered defeats against Egypt’s Pyramids FC and Morocco’s RS Berkane, leaving them under pressure going into the fixture.
Goalkeeper Osagie Onisodumeya was one of Rivers United’s standout performers, producing several important saves in the first half to keep the hosts at bay.
Despite the improved defensive display, the Nigerian club struggled going forward and created very little in terms of clear-cut scoring chances throughout the contest.
The draw leaves Rivers United third in their group with one point from three matches.
Both teams will meet again next week Sunday, when Rivers United welcome Power Dynamos to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo for their Matchday Four clash.
