Nigeria’s Falconets will face Senegal in Abeokuta after the venue for the first leg of their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup third-round qualifier was changed.
The encounter will now take place at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, instead of the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasinga, Ibadan, where it was initially scheduled.
The Nigeria Football Federation made the request for a venue switch following concerns over the poor condition of the Ibadan pitch.
Moses Aduku’s side had arrived in Ibadan from Abuja last week as part of their build-up to the two-legged tie. However, the team is expected to move to Abeokuta in the coming days to begin familiarisation with the MKO Abiola Sports Arena surface.
The Falconets secured their place in the third qualifying round after a dominant 5–0 aggregate victory over Rwanda in the previous stage.
The winner of the tie between Nigeria and Senegal will move one step closer to securing a place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World cup.m
