Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from the club, branding the speculation as “rubbish”.
The England international was responding to rumours suggesting he could leave Chelsea for Manchester United at the end of the season. Palmer made it clear he is not distracted by transfer talk, insisting he pays little attention to such reports.
Palmer delivered a standout performance in Chelsea’s 3–1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in the Premier League on Saturday, scoring a superb hat-trick.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 13th minute from the penalty spot before doubling Chelsea’s lead with another spot kick in the 35th minute. He completed his treble just three minutes later, celebrating with his trademark ‘Cold’ gesture before cupping his ears towards the crowd.
Speaking after the match, Palmer was asked about his future amid growing speculation and responded bluntly, as quoted by Goal:
“Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they?”
“I don’t pay a lot of attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I’ve already come from a strong position, so I don’t focus on that.”
Reports last month had claimed the midfielder could return to Manchester in the summer, sparking links with United. Palmer is a product of Manchester City’s academy and made 41 senior appearances for the club, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Palmer has established himself as a key figure at Stamford Bridge, registering 51 goals and 31 assists in 114 appearances across all competitions for the Blues.
