The 30-year-old has penned a deal that will keep him at the club until May 2026, arriving in Cyprus four months after parting ways with Serbian champions **Red Star Belgrade**.
Olayinka brings significant European experience, having featured in Albania, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. Across 364 professional appearances, the Super Eagles striker has registered an impressive 102 goals and 61 assists.
He enjoyed his most successful spell at Slavia Prague, where he etched his name into the club’s history books as their highest-scoring foreign player in European competitions. During his time in Prague, he recorded over 50 goals and 26 assists in more than 180 matches, becoming a key figure in their domestic and continental campaigns.
APOEL confirmed the acquisition in an official statement:
“APOEL FOOTBALL (PUBLIC) LTD announces the start of its cooperation with Peter Olayinka. The duration of the cooperation is until May 2026. We welcome Peter to APOEL and wish him every success.”
Olayinka, a member of Nigeria’s squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to make an immediate impact at the GSP Stadium as APOEL push for domestic honours and a return to European competition.
