Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has unveiled a 25-player list for this month’s international friendlies against Cameroon, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade and first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie headlining the squad.
Nigeria will take on the Indomitable Lionesses in Yaoundé on February 28 and March 3 as part of their build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The squad features a blend of experience and fresh talent. Forwards Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo have been included, while Canada-based midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene makes a return to the national team fold after a two-year absence.
Gift Monday is back in contention after missing last year’s continental success in Morocco. England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor earns her maiden senior call-up, while defender Chidinma Okeke also rejoins the team. Midfielder Precious Christopher has been handed her first invitation to the Super Falcons setup.
Regular names such as Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin and Ashleigh Plumptre maintain their spots in defence. In midfield, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun and Jennifer Echegini keep their places, while forward Omorinsola Babajide also makes the cut.
The upcoming fixtures are expected to serve as crucial preparation ahead of WAFCON, which will hold in Morocco from March 17 to April 3. The top four teams at the tournament will secure automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
