Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has dismissed reports suggesting he is considering another spell in Europe, insisting his focus remains firmly on domestic football in Nigeria.
The experienced forward had recently been linked with a move to Kazakhstani club FC Kaysar, sparking rumours of a potential overseas return. The speculation intensified after the club completed the signing of Musaโs former Super Eagles teammate Victor Moses, leading to suggestions that Musa could follow a similar path.
However, sources close to the player have clarified that there are no ongoing discussions regarding a transfer abroad. Musa is said to be fully committed to his current project with Kano Pillars, where he plays a dual role as both a senior player and the clubโs General Manager.
The 31-year-old is reportedly determined to help the Sai Masu Gida rediscover their past success and re-establish themselves as a major force in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Kano Pillars are currently battling in the lower half of the table and face a tough challenge to steer clear of relegation before the end of the campaign.
Musaโs decision to remain in Nigeria underscores his long-term vision for the club, with the former Leicester City winger believed to be focused on rebuilding the teamโs structure, stability, and competitive edge.
Before returning home, Musa enjoyed a lengthy career in Europe, featuring in top divisions across Russia, England, and Turkey. His most recent European appearance came with Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor.
For now, any talk of a European comeback appears premature, as the veteran forward channels his energy into lifting Kano Pillars out of their current struggles and restoring pride to one of Nigeriaโs most historic football institutions.
