Liam Rosenior has singled out João Pedro as the one player in the Chelsea FC squad he would not exchange for any other striker.
The Blues boss made the remark while speaking after his side’s victory over Wrexham AFC in the FA Cup on Saturday, where Pedro delivered a decisive performance.
Rosenior praised the Brazilian forward’s impact since his arrival, insisting the attacker has already proven himself among the elite strikers in world football.
He even suggested Pedro now belongs in the same conversation as top forwards like Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane.
When asked if he would consider swapping Pedro for any of those stars following Chelsea’s win, Rosenior dismissed the idea.
“Joao is already in that bracket,” he said. “In the short time I’ve been here, he has consistently shown the qualities of a world-class striker.”
The Chelsea manager, however, was quick to acknowledge the quality of Haaland, describing the Manchester City striker as an exceptional talent.
“I prefer to focus on my players. Comparing them can be unfair to someone like Erling because he’s also an incredible striker,” Rosenior added.
“But right now, honestly, I wouldn’t replace Joao Pedro with anyone.”
