Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, will open training camp in Antalya, Turkey next week Tuesday as part of preparations for an upcoming four-nation invitational tournament.
The camping exercise is expected to bring together invited players and members of the technical crew ahead of two scheduled fixtures in the competition. The tournament will serve as an important opportunity for the team to fine-tune strategies, assess player performance, and build cohesion.
Head coach Eric Chelle on Wednesday released a 23-man squad for the invitational, with a blend of experienced players and fresh faces expected to report to camp. The selection underlines the coach’s intent to evaluate his options as the team continues its rebuilding process.
The Super Eagles will begin their campaign against Iran next Friday in Antalya. The match is slated to kick off at 4pm Nigerian time and will mark Nigeria’s first outing in the tournament.
Following the clash with Iran, the three-time African champions will return to action against Jordan in their second game. The encounter is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, with kick-off set for 8pm Nigerian time.
The four-nation invitational tournament is expected to provide valuable international exposure for the Super Eagles, offering the technical crew a chance to test tactical approaches and combinations against quality opposition.
With preparations set to begin in earnest next week, attention will be on how quickly the players adapt and respond to Eric Chelle’s methods as the team continues its quest for consistency and improved performances on the international stage.
