Global sportswear giant Nike has officially launched the new home and away jerseys for Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, offering fans a fresh identity following the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The unveiling was confirmed on Monday via the team’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, sparking mixed reactions among supporters still grappling with the disappointment of missing out on football’s biggest stage.
The newly released home kit features a bold and vibrant light green base, complemented by darker green panel detailing and a subtle dotted fade pattern that adds depth to the design. The jersey is finished with the Nigeria Football Federation crest and Nike’s signature swoosh, maintaining a clean yet modern aesthetic.
According to Nike, the design reflects a blend of performance and culture, extending beyond the pitch. “This kit continues their tradition of street-ready designs that make a statement far beyond the field,” the company stated in the product description on its official website.
In contrast, the away kit adopts a more striking visual identity. It comes in a clean white base, highlighted by dynamic green flame-like patterns that rise from the lower section of the jersey across the front, back, and sleeves. The design is further enhanced by a dark green shallow V-neck collar and black-trimmed cuffs, giving it a sharp and contemporary finish.
Nike also emphasized that both kits are engineered with advanced performance features, including its Dri-FIT technology, which helps regulate body temperature by wicking sweat away from the skin. The company added that the jerseys are produced using sustainable materials as part of its broader environmental commitment.
The new jerseys are priced at £109.99 for adult versions, while the children’s kits are available at £84.99.
Despite the excitement surrounding the new designs, the launch comes at a challenging moment for Nigerian football, with many fans hoping the new kits will signal the beginning of a renewed era for the Super Eagles on the international stage.
