Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has praised Victor Osimhen, describing him as possibly the greatest foreign player to ever feature for Galatasaray.
Speaking on the Libero TV YouTube channel, Çakar emphasized that Osimhen’s influence goes beyond his performances on the pitch. He pointed out that the striker has shown a remarkable level of commitment, passion, and emotional connection to the club, qualities that make him stand out among other foreign players in Galatasaray’s history.
According to Çakar, Osimhen could even rank as the club’s number one foreign signing when it comes to his sense of belonging and responsibility toward the team.
He also addressed the circumstances surrounding the player’s recent injury. Osimhen suffered a broken arm but traveled to Nigeria to spend time with his family before returning for surgery. Çakar defended the forward’s decision, saying there was nothing wrong with him taking a few days off despite the injury.
He explained that as long as Osimhen avoided using the injured arm, there was no issue with him relaxing at home. He added that the striker acted professionally by returning afterward to undergo the necessary medical procedure.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli on a permanent transfer last year, a move that attracted widespread attention. Since then, he has continued to prove his quality and importance to the team.
Although currently sidelined, there is growing anticipation around his return, with fans eager to see him back in action. His performances and attitude have already earned him admiration, and comments like Çakar’s further highlight the strong impression he has made in Turkish football.
As conversations about his place in the club’s history continue, Osimhen’s talent, work ethic, and connection with supporters are steadily strengthening his legacy at Galatasaray.
