Victor Osimhen is closing in on a return to action after Galatasaray confirmed the striker is expected to resume full training later this month.
The Nigerian international is scheduled to rejoin full team sessions on April 20, marking a major step in his recovery from the injury that has kept him sidelined in recent weeks.
Osimhen had undergone surgery last month after suffering a right forearm injury during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash with Liverpool. Since then, the 27-year-old has been undergoing rehabilitation, with medical staff closely monitoring his progress.
Encouragingly, reports indicate that the forward could be fit in time for one of the biggest fixtures in Turkish football—the Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahçe, scheduled to take place just days after his expected return to training.
Osimhen’s absence has been felt by Galatasaray, particularly in their recent 2-1 defeat to title rivals Trabzonspor, a result that dented their momentum in the title race.
Before the injury setback, Osimhen had been in impressive form for the Yellow and Reds, contributing 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season. His attacking presence, pace and clinical finishing have made him a central figure in the team’s offensive play.
His anticipated return will therefore come as a significant boost for Galatasaray as they approach a decisive phase of the campaign, both domestically and in Europe.
Attention will now be on how quickly Osimhen regains full match fitness once he resumes training, with fans and the coaching staff hopeful he can make an immediate impact upon his return to competitive action.
