Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has ended the 2025/26 Turkish Super Lig season as the joint highest goal scorer, sharing the prestigious Golden Boot award with Istanbul Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov.
Both attackers finished the campaign with an impressive 22 league goals each, capping off a remarkable season for their respective clubs. Onuachu played a key role for Trabzonspor throughout the season, consistently delivering important goals and standout performances that helped strengthen the club’s attack.
The Nigerian international’s achievement also places him in Trabzonspor’s history books, as he became only the sixth player from the club to win the Turkish Super Lig top scorer award. His consistency in front of goal made him one of the most feared strikers in the league this season.
Shomurodov, who also enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Başakşehir, matched Onuachu’s goal tally to ensure the Golden Boot prize was shared between the two forwards. Their battle for the scoring title remained intense until the final stages of the season.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe star Anderson Talisca finished third in the scoring chart after recording 19 goals during the league season. The Brazilian midfielder was one of the standout performers for his side but narrowly missed out on the top scorer prize.
Last season’s Golden Boot winner was fellow Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who enjoyed a sensational debut campaign with Galatasaray. Osimhen scored 26 goals in just 30 league appearances to claim the individual honour and establish himself as one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.
Onuachu’s latest achievement further highlights the growing impact of Nigerian players in Turkish football, with several Super Eagles stars continuing to shine for some of the country’s biggest clubs.
