Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set for another showdown with Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz after both teams secured places in the final of the 2026 Unity Cup.

The Nigerian side booked their spot in the championship match after edging past Zimbabwe earlier this week. While the performance left room for improvement, debutant Femi Azeez stole the spotlight with two goals that ensured victory for the three-time African champions.

Attention then shifted to the second semifinal at The Valley in London, where Jamaica squared off against India for the remaining ticket to the final.

The Reggae Boyz entered the contest as favourites and justified that tag with a confident display. Jamaica controlled large portions of the game, created the clearer opportunities, and eventually earned a comfortable 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Kaheim Dixon and Courtney Clarke.

Nigeria and Jamaica Renew Rivalry

Saturday’s final will revive a familiar matchup between both nations, following their clash in last year’s Unity Cup final where Nigeria emerged victorious under head coach Eric Chelle.

Jamaica may be without one of their biggest stars, Leon Bailey of Aston Villa, but the Caribbean side still possesses dangerous attacking quality. Their pace and direct style could pose serious problems if Nigeria leaves gaps at the back.

Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo may once again have an important role to play, especially if the Super Eagles struggle to contain Jamaica’s counterattacks in the final third.

Despite missing several established stars, Nigeria still boasts a talented squad capable of lifting the trophy. After the narrow win over Zimbabwe, Chelle admitted his players did not fully execute his tactical instructions, suggesting improvements are expected before the final encounter.
