Chelsea are reportedly preparing for a major summer shake-up, with several players now placed on the transfer list as the club begins reshaping its squad ahead of a new era under incoming manager Xabi Alonso.
The Blues, who endured a disappointing season by their standards, are expected to be one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the upcoming transfer window, with both arrivals and departures on the cards as part of a sweeping rebuild.
One of the biggest talking points is the future of Alejandro Garnacho, who joined Chelsea last summer in a £40 million move from Manchester United. Once seen as one of the brightest young attackers in English football, the Argentine’s time at Stamford Bridge has not gone as planned.
Garnacho struggled for consistent minutes throughout the campaign, managing just 14 Premier League starts and scoring only once. Despite arriving with high expectations and hopes of reviving his career, he found himself drifting in and out of the team under multiple coaches.
Reports now suggest Chelsea are open to offers for the winger, just one year after his arrival, as the club reassesses its attacking options. His situation reflects a wider issue at Stamford Bridge, where several players are now facing uncertain futures.
Chelsea are also expected to make decisions on a number of squad members as part of their ongoing restructuring. According to reports, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defender Axel Disasi, and at least one of Liam Delap, Marc Guiu, or Nicolas Jackson could all be made available for transfer depending on how squad planning develops.
The club’s approach highlights a growing need to balance a heavily populated squad while also creating room for new signings tailored to Alonso’s tactical plans.
Despite the potential departures, Chelsea are not expected to part ways with their core stars. Players such as Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella have attracted interest from top European clubs, but the Blues are not actively looking to sell either at this stage.
Fernandez, who has been linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid, is said to be open to a move, although Chelsea would reportedly demand around £120 million for the midfielder. Cucurella, meanwhile, continues to be monitored by clubs in Spain and England, but remains part of the club’s long-term plans.
The situation underlines Chelsea’s complicated squad structure, with a mix of high-profile signings, young prospects, and recent arrivals all competing for limited places. While some players are expected to be shown the door, others will be given another chance to prove themselves under the new manager.
Incoming boss Xabi Alonso, who is set to officially take charge in July, is expected to request two or three experienced additions to strengthen key areas of the team. At the same time, he will be tasked with trimming a bloated squad and building a more balanced, competitive side.
One area of concern remains the striker position, where Chelsea are reportedly open to reshuffling options. Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap, and Marc Guiu are all part of the discussion as the club looks for greater consistency in front of goal.
The Blues’ recruitment strategy in recent windows has brought in several young talents, but the lack of immediate impact from some signings has raised questions about squad balance and long-term planning.
Even so, the club has made it clear that several key players are not for sale, including Cole Palmer, Moisés Caicedo, João Pedro, Estevão Willian, and Josh Acheampong, who are all considered central to Chelsea’s future project.
As things stand, Chelsea are preparing for a busy and decisive summer, with major decisions expected across the squad. The coming weeks could determine not just who stays or leaves, but also the direction the club takes under new leadership.
For Garnacho and several others, the message is clear: no place is guaranteed at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea enter yet another period of transition and rebuilding.
