Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are reportedly seeking the assistance of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they intensify efforts to sign fellow Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman during the summer transfer window.
According to reports from the Turkish media, Galatasaray have identified Lookman as a key transfer target and hope Osimhen can play a role in persuading him to make the move to Istanbul.
Lookman joined Atlético Madrid in January for a transfer fee believed to be around €35 million and has quickly established himself as an important figure in the squad. Since arriving in Spain, the 28-year-old has registered five goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
By involving Osimhen in their pursuit, Galatasaray acknowledge the difficulty of negotiating a deal for the Nigerian forward. Atlético Madrid are unlikely to be eager to part with another influential attacker, particularly after the departure of Antoine Griezmann and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the futures of Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth.
As a result, convincing both the player and his club could prove to be a major challenge for the Turkish giants as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.
