Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly urged the Turkish champions to pursue a move for fellow Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare ahead of the new season.
According to Soccernet, Osimhen believes Arokodare could strengthen Galatasaray’s attacking options as the club prepares for the expected departure of Mauro Icardi.
Icardi’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, leaving Galatasaray in the market for another centre-forward despite Osimhen’s presence in the squad.
Arokodare, who shares a strong relationship with Osimhen from their time together with the Super Eagles, has emerged as one of the names under consideration.
The 25-year-old endured a difficult first season at Wolves following his move to the Premier League. He registered six goals and two assists in 38 appearances as the club suffered relegation.
Despite those numbers, Arokodare remains highly regarded within Nigerian football, and his physical presence and goal-scoring profile could make him an attractive option for Galatasaray as they reshape their squad for next season.
