Galatasaray are reportedly preparing an ambitious move for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes as the Turkish champions continue building a squad capable of competing at the highest level next season.
The Portuguese midfielder has emerged as one of the club’s priority transfer targets, with Galatasaray viewing him as the ideal creative force to operate behind star striker Victor Osimhen. The Turkish giants are believed to be keen on strengthening their attacking unit after Osimhen’s impressive campaign, and Fernandes is seen as the player capable of elevating the team’s overall quality.
According to respected Turkish journalist Yakup Çınar, Galatasaray have already placed Fernandes on their transfer shortlist, although any potential move is expected to depend on developments after the FIFA World Cup. Speaking on the 90+ Digital YouTube channel, Çınar claimed the midfielder intends to focus on the tournament before making a final decision about his future at Old Trafford.
“Bruno Fernandes is definitely on Galatasaray’s transfer list. He is waiting for the World Cup to finish before making his decision,” Çınar revealed.
The financial aspects of any deal could prove to be the biggest obstacle. Manchester United are reportedly demanding a significant transfer fee for their captain, while Fernandes’ current salary is also expected to present a major challenge for any interested club. According to Çınar, the Portugal international currently earns around £12 million annually, with wage expectations believed to be close to €15 million.
Despite those financial hurdles, Galatasaray remain interested in exploring a deal that would pair one of Europe’s most creative midfielders with one of the continent’s most prolific strikers. The prospect of Fernandes supplying chances for Osimhen would undoubtedly strengthen the Turkish champions’ ambitions both domestically and in European competition.
For now, however, the transfer remains on hold as Fernandes is expected to postpone any decision until after his World Cup commitments. Once the tournament concludes, attention is likely to shift quickly to his future, with Galatasaray hoping they can persuade the Manchester United captain to begin a new chapter in Istanbul.
