Nigeria National League (NNL) club Crown FC have appointed Fatai Akande as their new technical adviser as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.
The appointment was confirmed by Oyo State Commissioner for Sports, Wasilat Adegoke, who announced the decision on Tuesday.
Akande takes over with the responsibility of leading the club into a new campaign after Crown FC narrowly missed out on promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season.
Club officials are expected to rely on the experienced coach to strengthen the squad, improve performances, and build a competitive team capable of challenging for promotion.
Known for his emphasis on discipline and player development at the grassroots level, Akande is expected to oversee the club’s rebuilding process while instilling a winning mentality within the squad.
His immediate focus will be on preparing the team for the upcoming NNL season as Crown FC seek to return to contention for a place in Nigeria’s top flight.
