The report suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to enter the race for Victor Osimhen as they continue an aggressive summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi. After already investing more than £230 million on players including Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, Spurs reportedly view Osimhen as the final piece needed to complete their attack. According to the report, the club has received internal approval to begin formal negotiations and is expected to table an opening offer of around £65 million.
However, completing such a deal would be extremely difficult. Galatasaray reportedly value Osimhen at around €150 million, significantly higher than Tottenham’s reported valuation. The Turkish champions signed the Nigerian striker for approximately €75 million and tied him to a contract until 2029, placing them in a very strong negotiating position. Osimhen has also publicly maintained that he would only leave if Galatasaray decide they are willing to sell him, meaning any transfer will depend largely on the club’s stance rather than the player’s desire.
Osimhen’s performances fully explain why Europe’s biggest clubs continue to monitor his situation. Over the last four seasons, he has scored 107 goals in 145 appearances across all competitions, helping Napoli win the 2022/23 Serie A title before leading Galatasaray to consecutive Turkish Süper Lig championships in 2024/25 and 2025/26. He has also demonstrated his quality on the biggest stage, scoring 16 goals in 27 UEFA Champions League appearances, underlining his ability to perform against elite opposition.
Tottenham are far from the first club to pursue the 27-year-old. Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with him in recent transfer windows, while Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich have also reportedly shown interest. Despite that sustained attention, no club has managed to convince Galatasaray to sell or satisfy the financial demands involved.
From Tottenham’s perspective, signing Osimhen would immediately transform their attack. He combines elite finishing, physical dominance, pace, aerial ability and relentless pressing, qualities that would fit an aggressive, front-foot style of football. His arrival would also provide Spurs with one of the Premier League’s most complete centre-forwards and significantly strengthen their ambitions of competing for major honours.
At this stage, though, the reported £65 million figure appears well below Galatasaray’s reported valuation. Unless Tottenham substantially increase their offer or Galatasaray soften their stance, negotiations are likely to be challenging. As things stand, the story reflects Tottenham’s interest rather than an agreement, with any transfer still dependent on whether the Turkish champions are willing to negotiate.
