The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League draw has been completed, and the stage is set for another dramatic season in Europe’s biggest competition.
There are 36 teams in this year’s league phase. Each club will play eight matches against eight different opponents, four at home and four away. At the end of the phase in January, the top eight teams will qualify automatically for the round of 16. The clubs finishing from ninth to twenty-fourth will take part in a playoff round, while the bottom twelve will be eliminated.
This new format, introduced last season, has once again thrown up some blockbuster ties. Arsenal and Chelsea have both been paired with Bayern Munich. Manchester City will travel to Real Madrid, while Liverpool get to host the Spanish giants at Anfield. Tottenham face a reunion with Paris Saint-Germain after their Super Cup defeat, and Newcastle United will both visit the reigning champions and relive old memories with a home clash against Barcelona, a throwback to their famous 1997 meeting.
UEFA will release the confirmed fixture list with dates and kick-off times no later than Saturday, August 30.
