Galatasaray’s decision to launch a premium collector’s item celebrating Victor Osimhen’s signing is already proving to be a financial masterstroke, with over €4.2 million in revenue pouring in from pre-orders alone. In less than a week since its release, more than 20,000 fans have placed orders for the exclusive Solo Il Gala box, each one priced at 9,999 Turkish Lira.
This strategic merchandise rollout was handled completely in-house by the Turkish champions. No third parties were involved. Just Galatasaray’s marketing strength and the unstoppable buzz around the 26-year-old Nigerian striker, who signed permanently from Napoli for €75 million.
In local currency, the club has already earned close to 200 million Turkish Lira. Every euro from this project is going straight into Galatasaray’s accounts through sales made on their official GS Store platform.
The box celebrates Osimhen’s second chapter at the club, now on a permanent deal. He is reportedly earning €20 million per year. Inside each collector’s box, fans will find three exclusive items. One is a specially designed jersey with a unique serial number and design that will not be available anywhere else. The second is an Osimhen mask made from elastomer material with adjustable straps and five printed stars. The third item is a scarf featuring the Solo Il Gala branding which has now become a slogan of pride for the club and its supporters.
There is a QR code on the jersey tag that unlocks digital content for the buyer. This includes surprise video messages from Osimhen, exclusive media content, and a digital timeline that captures the moment in club history.
Galatasaray plans to release 100,000 units of this special collection. If they sell out the full stock, the club will rake in about €21.5 million from this campaign alone. That figure alone could comfortably cover Osimhen’s annual salary.
A personal message from Osimhen is included in every box. It reads, “This jersey in the box is not my jersey, it is all of ours. Every time you wear it, remember our history, remember us.”
This merchandise campaign is part of Galatasaray’s wider commercial strategy. The club is trying to shift its focus away from domestic broadcast income, which brings in only about €18 million yearly. Instead, they are targeting higher revenue from merchandising, ticket sales, and corporate sponsorships. Last season, Galatasaray made €85 million from shirt sales and is aiming for a commercial revenue figure close to €150 million this season.
During a press conference, Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek thanked the fans and urged them to keep supporting the club with their passion and loyalty. He said, “Our supporters are our biggest stakeholders. Every Osimhen box they buy is a contribution to the future of the club. We call on them to continue filling the stadiums and standing behind the team.”
Victor Osimhen’s impact during his loan spell was immense. He scored 37 goals and recorded eight assists in 41 matches, becoming a fan favorite and now a permanent part of the Galatasaray story.
