Alex Iwobi has revealed the intense and relentless mindset of his Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, describing the striker as someone willing to go to any lengths just to secure victory.
Speaking on the Best Mode On podcast, the Fulham FC midfielder highlighted Osimhen’s aggressive approach both in training and in matches, noting that his determination often pushes him to the limit.
Iwobi explained that Osimhen frequently puts himself at risk during training sessions, always throwing himself into challenges without hesitation. According to him, the striker’s fearless attitude and constant drive to compete are part of what has shaped him into one of the world’s top forwards.
He pointed out that while some critics may see Osimhen as raw or unrefined, his work rate and persistence set him apart. Iwobi added that the Nigerian striker has the ability to create multiple scoring opportunities for himself in a single game purely through effort and movement.
The midfielder also emphasized Osimhen’s mentality when facing opponents, saying he shows the same level of intensity regardless of who he is up against, whether it is elite defenders like Virgil van Dijk or lower-league players. That competitive edge, Iwobi noted, is evident in every game situation.
Iwobi further admitted that Osimhen’s desire to win can sometimes go too far, revealing that the striker can become overly competitive in training. He even joked that Osimhen is not above bending the rules if it gives him an advantage, stressing that it all stems from an extreme hunger to succeed.
Osimhen’s mentality, according to Iwobi, is what makes him special, describing it as intense and uncommon, and a major reason behind his success at both club and international level.
