Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Jurrien Timber and Noni Madueke are both available for Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint Germain in Budapest.
Arteta delivered the positive update while speaking to reporters on Friday evening ahead of the highly anticipated showdown.
“Timber is fit. Fit enough to start? Yeah. Madueke? Yeah, he is fit. The only one is Ben,” Arteta said.
Timber has not featured since March after suffering an injury during Arsenal’s victory over Everton, raising doubts over whether he would recover in time for the final.
Madueke also faced fitness concerns after picking up a knock during Arsenal’s title winning clash against Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season. The winger had scored in that match before being forced off.
However, both players are now expected to be available for selection as Arsenal prepare for their biggest match in two decades.
The only confirmed absentee for the Gunners is Ben White, who remains sidelined with a knee injury sustained during Arsenal’s game against West Ham earlier this month.
Arsenal head into the final full of confidence after completing an unbeaten Champions League campaign and securing their first Premier League title in 22 years.
Standing in their way is a PSG side aiming to defend the European crown they won last season following their dominant 5 0 victory over Inter Milan in the previous final.
The clash at the Puskás Arena represents Arsenal’s first Champions League final appearance since 2006, when they narrowly lost to Barcelona.
