Getafe president Ángel Torres has confirmed the Spanish club are prepared to sell Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche this summer if the right offer arrives.
The 23-year-old is set to return to the LaLiga side at the end of the month following the expiration of his loan spell at Premier League club Crystal Palace.
Uche spent the 2025/26 campaign at Selhurst Park but struggled to establish himself in Oliver Glasner’s first team. The attacking midfielder made 14 Premier League appearances for the Eagles but failed to register a goal or an assist during his time in England’s top flight.
However, he enjoyed greater success in European competition, scoring twice in four UEFA Europa Conference League outings to underline the attacking qualities that first attracted Palace to his services.
Despite those flashes of promise, Crystal Palace have reportedly decided against activating a permanent deal, paving the way for Uche’s return to Spain.
Speaking about the Nigerian’s future, Getafe president Ángel Torres revealed the club are happy to welcome the midfielder back but admitted they would consider cashing in should a suitable bid be submitted.
“Uche has a contract with Palace until the 30th, so we can’t do anything,” Torres told Sphera Sports.
“He doesn’t mind coming back, and the coach wants him. If there’s an offer and we agree on it, we’ll sell him.”
Torres’ comments suggest Getafe have not closed the door on keeping Uche, with the club’s coaching staff still keen on the player despite his mixed spell in England.
The midfielder is expected to report for pre-season with Getafe unless another club makes an acceptable offer before the transfer window closes.
Still only 23, Uche remains highly regarded for his technical ability, versatility and attacking instincts. While his Premier League adventure did not go according to plan, his performances in the Europa Conference League demonstrated that he still possesses the quality to make an impact at a high level.
With Getafe willing to negotiate and the summer transfer window gathering pace, Uche’s future is likely to attract interest from clubs across Europe as he looks to secure regular first-team football ahead of the new season.
