Manchester United have been told that Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen could be the solution to the club’s problems after their disappointing start to the new Premier League campaign.
Turkish football pundit Yetiş Yönetci believes the Nigeria international would make an immediate impact at Old Trafford if Manchester United are able to secure his signature. Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move away from Galatasaray, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Atlético Madrid and other major European clubs reportedly monitoring his situation during this summer’s transfer window.
Speaking in comments shared by A Spor, Yönetci delivered a strong assessment of what Osimhen could bring to Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side.
“Victor Osimhen would be the cure for all of Manchester United’s woes,” the Turkish pundit said.
The comments come after Manchester United suffered another setback at the weekend, losing 2-0 to Hull City in the Premier League. The result has increased pressure on the club and raised further questions about the quality and effectiveness of their attack.
United have struggled to consistently turn possession and opportunities into goals, and the suggestion from Yönetci is that a proven striker such as Osimhen could address that weakness. The Nigerian forward has developed a reputation as an explosive and prolific goalscorer, capable of leading the line, stretching defences and creating problems for opposition defenders with his pace and physical strength.
Osimhen’s current form has only strengthened the argument for a potential move. The 27-year-old has made an impressive start to the season with Galatasaray, scoring four goals in his first two matches for the Turkish club.
That early-season scoring record has once again placed Osimhen at the centre of transfer speculation involving some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Manchester United are among the clubs linked with the striker, while Arsenal and Atlético Madrid have also been mentioned as potential destinations.
For United, the attraction is obvious. The club need greater attacking consistency, particularly after their defeat to Hull City, and Osimhen’s record of finding the net could provide the cutting edge they have been missing.
However, signing the Nigerian would likely represent a major financial commitment, particularly given his importance to Galatasaray and his current form. United would therefore have to decide whether bringing in Osimhen is the major investment required to transform their fortunes.
For now, the striker remains a Galatasaray player and is continuing to deliver goals in Turkey. But with Manchester United’s problems in front of goal once again under the spotlight, Yönetci’s claim that Osimhen could “cure” the club’s woes is likely to add further fuel to speculation linking the Nigerian forward with a move to Old Trafford.
