Carlo Ancelotti made a return to Real Madrid’s training ground at Valdebebas on Thursday, taking advantage of a brief break from his duties as Brazil head coach to reconnect with his former club ahead of Friday’s LaLiga clash with Real Betis.
The Italian coach spent time with old friends and former players, with particular attention on the fitness of Real Madrid’s Brazilian contingent. Ancelotti also met with current head coach Jose Mourinho during his visit.
He took photographs with members of the squad, including new arrivals Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella, as well as several of the players he previously coached during his successful spell at the club.
Ancelotti’s return offered a brief reunion with a club where he enjoyed considerable success before taking charge of Brazil. He also used the opportunity to watch a training session and catch up with members of the current squad.
The 67-year-old is now preparing for his next international assignment with Brazil and is expected to announce his squad for the team’s upcoming fixtures next week.
