Incoming Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has reportedly identified six players who are not part of his plans ahead of the new season, signalling the early stages of what could be a significant squad overhaul at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Ramón Álvarez de Mon of Radio MARCA, Raúl Asencio, Rodrygo Goes, Fran García, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga and Franco Mastantuono are all among the players who could be moved on once Mourinho formally begins his tenure. The report claims the Portuguese coach has already made his stance clear to Real Madrid’s hierarchy as he prepares to reshape the squad in line with his tactical demands.
Several of the players named are understood to have found their roles increasingly uncertain in recent months, either due to tactical rotation, competition for places, or inconsistent form. While some have been used sporadically across the campaign, others have struggled to establish themselves as regular starters, leading to growing speculation over their long-term futures at the club.
Mourinho is said to be prioritising a more defined structure, greater defensive stability, and a clearer hierarchy within the squad, which could result in major changes across multiple positions. The early signals suggest he is willing to make bold decisions, even involving high-profile or highly rated players, if they do not fit his long-term vision for the team.
Although he has not officially taken charge yet, Mourinho has already been linked with early transfer activity. Reports indicate he has given approval for potential incoming deals, including the arrival of Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer from Liverpool. Real Madrid are also reportedly preparing to activate Denzel Dumfries’ €20 million release clause from Inter Milan, as they look to reinforce key areas of the squad.
