Super Eagles skipper Wilfred Ndidi has reportedly been presented to Manchester United as a potential signing, according to Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.Ndidi only joined Turkish giants Beşiktaş last summer after bringing an end to his long stay at Leicester City, where he spent eight years across both the Premier League and Championship.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano disclosed that the Nigerian midfielder’s name has come up as United explore options to reinforce their midfield for the remainder of the season.
He explained that Ndidi is among the players whose representatives have made him available to the Old Trafford club.“One of the midfielders offered to Manchester United is Wilfred Ndidi,” Romano revealed. “He previously played for Leicester City and is now in Turkey. His profile is being looked at as a possible January addition.”
Despite the interest, Romano clarified that the Red Devils are yet to submit any formal proposal to either Beşiktaş or the player. He added that Ndidi is keen on a return to English football and would welcome the opportunity to compete again in the Premier League.
“Manchester United are aware of the situation, but no official bid has been made. The player is open to any solution that would allow him to return to the Premier League,” Romano said.Since arriving in Turkey, Ndidi has been an important figure for Beşiktaş, starting 14 league matches and scoring once this season.
With the January transfer window entering its final stretch, the 29-year-old is understood to be interested in securing a move back to England, ideally to a club challenging at the highest level.
