Bayern Munich booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena, sealing a 6–4 aggregate win in a thrilling quarter-final clash.
Holding a narrow 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Spain, Bayern’s lead was wiped out almost instantly when a misplaced pass from Manuel Neuer allowed Arda Güler to score into an empty net from distance, bringing the tie level on aggregate.
The hosts reacted swiftly, drawing level on the night in the sixth minute as Aleksandar Pavlović headed in from a Joshua Kimmich corner. However, Real Madrid regained the lead when Güler struck again with a beautifully curled free-kick.
Bayern refused to back down and equalised in the 38th minute, with Harry Kane calmly finishing after a precise pass from Dayot Upamecano. Yet, just before halftime, Kylian Mbappé struck to give Madrid the edge once more in an electrifying first half.
After the break, Bayern dominated possession and created several chances, testing goalkeeper Andriy Lunin through Michael Olise and Luis Díaz. The game’s turning point came late on when Eduardo Camavinga was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for stopping a quick free-kick.
With the numerical advantage, Bayern pushed forward and found an equaliser in the 89th minute. Díaz linked up with Jamal Musiala before curling a superb effort into the far corner to make it 3-3 on the night.
Riding the momentum, Bayern completed their comeback deep into stoppage time. Harry Kane set up Olise, who cut inside and fired a decisive shot in off the post, sending the home crowd into celebration and securing Bayern’s spot in the final four, where they will face reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.
