The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) served up another exciting round of fixtures on Sunday, with Rangers International strengthening their title push, while Rivers United and Kun Khalifa grabbed important away victories in Matchday 37 action.

At the Umuahia Township Stadium, Kun Khalifa delivered one of the biggest surprises of the round after defeating Abia Warriors 2-0 on the road. Uchechukwu Onuoha was the standout performer, scoring in both halves, first in the 3rd minute before adding another in the 40th minute to seal the victory.

Rivers United also secured maximum points away from home in a dramatic 3-2 triumph against Wikki Tourists, keeping their ambitions alive heading into the final stretch of the season.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club edged Barau FC 1-0 thanks to Lucky Emmanuel’s first-half strike in the 41st minute.

Nasarawa United claimed a slim 1-0 victory over Plateau United, with Jofrank Istifanus netting the decisive goal late in the second half.

Remo Stars fought back from an early setback to defeat Bayelsa United 2-1. Bayelsa opened the scoring through Ofem Nneoyi in the 5th minute, but Alex Oyowah equalised before halftime. Victor Mbaoma later completed the comeback with the winning goal in the 64th minute.

Kano Pillars needed a stoppage-time penalty from experienced midfielder Rabiu Ali to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves.

League leaders Rangers International continued their impressive form by overcoming Bendel Insurance 2-1 to remain at the summit of the NPFL standings.

Elsewhere, Kwara United comfortably defeated Enyimba 2-0, while El-Kanemi Warriors and Niger Tornadoes played out a goalless draw. Katsina United also recorded an emphatic 4-1 victory against Ikorodu City.
