Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly on the verge of making a sensational comeback to Real Madrid after reaching a full agreement with the Spanish giants.
The veteran coach is expected to depart Benfica at the end of the season and take charge at the Santiago Bernabéu ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
According to reports, Mourinho will sign a two-year contract, with an additional one-year extension clause included in the agreement.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Monday, stating that both parties have already settled the terms and are now preparing the official paperwork.
Romano shared on X that Mourinho is scheduled to travel to Madrid shortly after Real Madrid’s clash with Athletic Bilbao, adding that “The Special One” is ready for another chapter with the club.
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning several trophies during his first spell in Spain.
