Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has reportedly been told to look for a new club after being informed that he is unlikely to feature regularly under manager Jose Mourinho.
According to *AS* editor Jose Felix Diaz, Mourinho has held talks with the 23-year-old centre-back and made it clear that he does not form part of his immediate plans for the new season.
Asencio’s representative, Jorge Mendes, has since begun exploring possible destinations for the defender, with Real Madrid also willing to consider his departure.
However, no formal offer has yet been received for the player.
The situation has been further complicated by Asencio’s current thigh injury, which has slowed down negotiations and limited the possibility of an immediate move.
For now, the player, his representatives and Real Madrid are waiting for a suitable offer as the transfer window continues to develop.
